Grooms Party - On-Site Photo Opportunities at SCR
Hello, SCR couples and engaged couples considering Sparrow Creek Ranch for your big day!
You might be asking… “Where do the grooms get ready?!”
1) There is no on-site grooms suite at SCR; we explain that below!

WHY ISN’T THERE A GROOM’S SUITE?
We understand that it is common for wedding venues to have grooms’ suites, but we do not have one at our venue for a few reasons.
First, we do not have entertainment for the guys onsite. This means that if we had a groom’s suite, the guys would be limited to hanging out in the room or going for a walk. Doesn’t sound super fun, right?!
SOLUTION: WILDCATTER RANCH or SCR LOG CABIN
We know from more than a decade in the business, that guys want activities and food on their wedding day! So we encourage them to hang out, have fun, eat, and get ready at the nearby resort called the Wildcatter Resort, or to experience our incredible SCR Log Cabin with a built-in outdoor entertainment area, poolside bar, and a gorgeous view. Both the SCR Log Cabin and The Wildcatter Resort are less than five minutes from Sparrow Creek Ranch.
Second, we believe that the guys need more space than just a room to get ready in. They need a place to relax, hang out with their friends, and have some fun. The Wildcatter Resort and other nearby accommodations offer plenty of space for the guys to do all of this and more. Finally, we believe it is important for the guys to have a separate space from the girls on the wedding day. This gives them a chance to bond with each other and relax before the big day.
We encourage our grooms and groomsmen to get ready at the SCR Log Cabin, Wildcatter Resort, Lush Resort, or other fun experience-oriented AirBnBs or PK Lake resorts. This gives them their own space to not only "get ready" but, more importantly, have activities for the entire day.
Activities groom and groomsmen can enjoy at the Wildcatter Resort:
Swimming: The resort has a beautiful pool complex with an infinity pool, hot tub, and an incredible view.
Horse Back Riding: The resort has excellent trails across the 1500 acres along the Brazos River. Great fun for everyone and lots of laugh about it. If not for the groomsmen a great activity for wedding guests during the wedding weekend.
Skeet Shoot: The resort has various changing activities that have been big hits for our grooms, including skeet shooting and bass fishing.

The SCR Log Cabin, Wildcatter Ranch, Lush Resort, The Middleton, and all the other lodging options around SCR with activities are the perfect place for the guys to get ready on their wedding day. Then come to SCR for great photos and to get married!
SCR PHOTO LOCATIONS FOR GROOM AND GROOMSMEN
Boxcar Room - there isn’t an inch of the Boxcar room that doesn’t appeal to portraits of the groom! Photographers love this room as it gives off a unique masculine vibe with the natural light coming in the big windows. The stairs and details all make this a perfect groom and groomsmen photo location.
CREEKSIDE PATIO - The big tree handing down across the industrial repurposed materials on the Creekside Patio make it a great groomsmen photos spot. It’s also fully shaded!
Barn Doors - The big barn doors at the front also give a perfect backdrop for groomsmen photos and play especially well-off blue suits and uniforms if you ask us!
TREES ON THE HILLTOP - no doubt getting a few outdoor hilltop photos with the light streaming through is always a good addition to groomsmen photos,. We love the diversity of backdrops you can find at SCR!
