Vintage Wedding Centerpiece Inspiration for the Romantic DFW Bride
Kalli, SCR’s first bride, and her Mom and Sister had the best time incorporating vintage decor and details the three of them already had on hand, or they found while treasure hunting. Together, they created personalized and unique vintage centerpieces for a unique shabby chic wedding with country undertones.
Most of the decor became household decor for Kalli or deconstructed and back to its original place in Kalli’s mom’s house. Our favorite details were old Bibles as vintage-inspired wedding decor, feathers, and old music sheets underneath centerpieces to add a tone of romance.
VINTAGE ROMANCE - DFW WEDDING VENUE
We often hear “SCR is so much more than a barn venue.” It is hard to describe the industrial and glamorous vibes of the barn until you’ve seen it in person. Every inch of SCR was designed around the unique, repurposed material aspects. What do we mean by that? We built the Boxcar Room around the repurposed bridge beams we salved from an old bride being taken off the Brazos River. The room didn’t come together until we then got a call to salvage and dismantle old boxcars from the railroad. Once we had the boxcars cut up and dozens of hours into cutting the wood out to repurpose it, we took stock of what we had. Dad, aka Kevin, the barn builder, could see he had enough of the floor and a staircase — so that’s what was built next! Then after an old house with copper nails in the floor was about to be demolished, we went in with our hearts to save every piece of that floor. With tons of hardship, we got the floor peeled off, loaded, and taken out to SCR, which became the back wall to the Boxdar Room. Then we had to wait on other elements to come our way. It’s taken us 10 years to build SCR. We didn’t hire an architect or even have a final vision. We didn’t build SCR according to our plan, but according to the one-of-a-kind industrial pieces we repurposed for a one-of-a-kind design.
Our couples come from across the US to get married at our industrial-glam bar just west of DFW or the Metroplex. We are next to PK Lake and a Texas Destination Mecca with tons of guest amenities. We can’t wait to meet you!
