Wedding Sparkler Exits for the Romantic Reception Getaway | Brides of North Texas

From the first wedding at SCR, sparkler exits have been part of our core! The large patio in front of SCR is the perfect safe space for these magic moments. The big barn doors open, and the getaway car is pulled up right in front, making a picturesque moment photographers love to capture!

But, most planners and photographers don’t love them because they can go wrong and be unsafe. Thankfully we’ve never had any issues at SCR, and we hope we never do, but here are some simple Wedding Sparkler Exit Dos and Donts!

TOP DOS AND DON’TS OF WEDDING SPARKLERS

Sparkler Exits are only allowed on the Front Patio at SCR to avoid sparks in the grass! You do not want a wildfire on your hand as you are trying to leave for your honeymoon!

  1. Make sure you leave enough space in the aisle for the bride and groom to walk through and be free of concern for sparklers getting in their hair or on her dress! It’s a good rule to have guests line up at the far sides of each big barn door in the middle.

  2. Do not allow guests to get more than one sparkler each - keep guests focused on one sparkler!

  3. Always have buckets with water nearby where guests can dispose of the sparklers. Or sand also works really well.

  4. Bride and Groom, stop halfway down for that amazing dip photo through the sparklers. Walk slow and let this moment live forever in your mind!

6. Make sure before the wedding day you have two people who are assigned to have the lighters on hand and ready to light each side of the aisle separately. You do not want guests walking backend forth to help light the next sparkler!

7. Be serious about sparklers, and do not give guests who had too many drinks sparklers. Many, many photographers have been burned accidentally, and some on purses from guests who should not have had sparklers.
