Why SCR? “We loved the story the barn tells and how old things can be brought back to life for a new purpose”
Why did you choose SCR? We chose SCR first because it is so beautiful. We are a bit into restoration ourselves so loved the story the barn tells and how old things can be brought back to life for a new purpose. We also chose SCR because of its flexibility. We are both very laid back and did not want a venue where we felt we didn't have any breathing room. And I mean have you seen the chandeliers?!
Bride Lindsey’s Review after the Wedding June 12, 2021
“If you're looking for a beautiful wedding venue that is actually affordable please look no further. The Barn at Sparrow Creek was perfect. My now-husband and I looked at this venue very first when we started the wedding planning process. As soon as we visited we knew we didn't need to look anywhere else. Kalli is amazing and has incredible vendors that work there all the time and already know what to do so you have that much less to worry about. Kalli will answer any questions you have day or night. They also provide you with so much information you're never guessing at what you're doing. I cannot recommend this place enough it's incredible! Also, shout out to Brothers BBQ, Amber Starling photograph, Mark Wagnor (the best bartender), Krazy Cakes, Pro Sound DJ, and The Little Flower Shop for making everything beautiful and perfect!”
Do you have any advice for future couples? They and we want to hear it! In the beginning I mean right after getting engaged and you have all the energy in the world to plan to do it. Work ahead so you can breathe later. Trust me you'll thank yourself because even if you work far ahead and in advance you'll still likely feel like you're behind. So breath, work and plan as soon as you feel like it, and remember it's y'alls day no one else's and this is the only time you'll get that so take advantage.
Tell us about the proposal! He had a note and flowers left at my house telling me to get ready for a date. We went to the restaurant we had our very first unofficial date, Jake and Dorthy's. He drove us around Stephenville and he finally stopped at the college park. once at Heritage park, we started walking in front of the gazebo. He tried to pull me out onto the grass and I argued that we couldn't. Tarleton has a tradition where on campus you can't walk on the grass. The rumor is that the founder, John Tarleton, is buried somewhere on campus so all grass walking must be avoided. Reluctantly I finally walked onto the grass and in the middle of the park, he got down on his knee and asked. (I had a feeling this was going to happen because when he held my hand to walk at the park his hands were SO clammy and he never ever has cold or clammy hands haha)
