Spring Wildflowers and Our Beloved Grove

Summertime in Texas is the best time to plan for the following Spring! It may be a smidge warm in parts of our state, but we can always look forward to and hope for the Spring to come. Wildflowers in May at the Barn at Sparrow Creek Ranch are unbeatable. The beauty and wonder of God’s creation is that we never know what form our beautiful meadow will take on. Some years the field of wildflowers is a vast array of yellow, some years it is covered in reds and oranges, and other years it is a mix of nothing short of the rainbow.

We love our how couples get to steel away in the wildflowers after the ceremony to take sunset portraits and have a few moments together as husband and wife. The colors pop from the skies and all of the flowers and grasses.

Wouldn’t you love for your guests to have this gorgeous view?! The wedding party looks dashing and the ring bearer is the sweetest, but you cannot deny they’re all beautifully complemented by the expansive oaks of The Grove and the wildflower meadow beyond the trees. Wildflower season stretches through April, May and June. You can check our calendar to see what is still available! We love the beauty of God’s creation, and have a healthy respect for the fact that we cannot control it. There is grace and patience in the waiting every year to see what pops up from bluebonnets to paintbrushes to sun hats to blankets.

We cannot close out this post without highlighting another amazing feature of our most popular ceremony site. Opposite The Grove, are our towering antique Barn Doors, which allow for the grandest of entries. Coming out of our barn doors is the big reveal that many of our brides swoon over! We love this sneak peak of the ceremony that Carli Layton Photography captured, as it gives you an idea of what the guests can see. You can also see this glowing bride’s “I’m here!” moment captured as her father walks her down the aisle to be united with her groom.
