May Wildflowers for Christy and Jordan’s Elegant Ranch Wedding - Graham, TX
WILDFLOWERS AND NEWLYWEDS
Graham, Texas, where Sparrow Creek is located (well between Graham and PK Lake), the wildflowers put on a show that rival anything you’ve seen on Texas postcards. Texas wildflowers make a ranch wedding feel overly romantic with color and natural beauty. The rolling hills around SCR create a dark backdrop against fields of flowers for the perfect picture framing. Our couples come away with stunning flower-filled portraits April-June. The peak season changes every year but during these three months our couples are usually delighted with wildflowers for their wedding day!
Christy and Jordan got married May 15, 2021 when the flowers from April were starting to wayne. They missed the “peak” season that year but still came away with amazing photos. Double Knot Weddings knows how to play out all the seasons and colors. Even when the fields are dormant she makes shine in her couples photos at SCR.
We’ve had many years when June was the peak wildflower season, and May and April too. Each month is beautiful for Texas weddings, regardless.
FATHER DAUGHTER FIRST LOOK
Christy walked right out the bridal suite’s back door to the Creekside Patio to have a special first look with her dad. This spot is so pretty, but most importantly shaded making it the perfect photo spot during the day (aka before ceremony). First looks are usually at the harshest part of the day when the sun is at it peak. That’s why photographers love having the shaded spaces around the bridal suite and patio for all the first looks and family photos before ceremony.
Taking family photos before the wedding ceremony gives couples so much less stress to rush photos after ceremony. We always encourage first looks and any one on one photos the couple want with mom, dad, grandparents, siblites, etc.
GROOM BRIDE FIRST LOOK
These two decided to have a first look and we’re so glad they did. It have them more time to play and have fun after the wedding in the field of flowers. And, Chrsity’s dad found a little place out of the way to watch and the tears he shed watching his little girl are some of our favorite ever.
THE GOWN & RANCH WEDDING DETAILS
A real ranch wedding with cowboy boots and lace feels at home at SCR, but with our mix of industrial glam we attract brides who have an eye for detail and beauty with a dash of rustic undertones. Christy was the perfect example of that. Her wedding details had the glamorous aesthetics that go so well with our romantic barn with the perfect touch of cowboy hats to bring it all together.
The gifts she gave to her mom and soon to be mother-in-law were too sweet and with custom hankershifts felt like a nod to the south and history. If you are looking for a personalized gift option for your mom and MIL this might be just the thing - you know they’ll need it once the ceremony starts!
WEDDING PARTY
Jordan looked amazing in his pressed jeans, charcol jacket and black cowboy hat. Ranch weddings often have this look for the groom and groomsmen but the black hat was a little bit different and make this groom stand out and look his best. Having the groomsmen in just nice white shirts is a great option for spring weddings.
Christy’s choice of light purple, liac was gorgeous against the SCR fields. Years later we still have people asking about these gowns! A light purple bridesmaid dress can be tricky but this choice was stunning.
