A Romantic and Moody Fall Wedding in North Texas at Sparrow Creek Ranch

Sparrow Creek Ranch is an absolutely stunning destination wedding venue all year round, but there’s something magical about the North Texas fall! As the Texas summer melts into crisp, cool autumn, it’s time to take inspiration from the shorter days and changing foliage and embrace rich, moody, and glamorous wedding decor. Metallic accents and sparkle serve to brighten the darkening evenings, while jewel and earth tones provide drama. These fall-inspired colors and perfect Texas October weather made for a dreamy wedding for today’s featured lovebirds, Brittany and Trevor, at Sparrow Creek Ranch.

Brittany and Trevor are from right down the street in Graham, Texas! It’s not often we get to host a local couple at Sparrow Creek Ranch, as our couples usually come from other parts of the state and country for a North Texas destination wedding, and so we were very excited to work with these two to help create the moody fall wedding of their dreams. A rustic venue doesn’t have to just mean a country wedding—at Sparrow Creek Ranch, couples can take the barn and striking landscape and paint their own personality and aesthetic on that beautiful canvas. This couple sure did! With the help of local vendors, the Sparrow Creek Ranch team, and Brittany’s bold design choices, they created the perfect celebration of their love.

Brittany and Trevor share a peaceful moment together, bathed in gorgeous fall light.

Brittany and Trevor’s marriage vows took place in the charming Sparrow Creek Grove ceremony space in front of the barn. Brittany was an ethereal beauty, sporting soft makeup by Kayla Lowe, a romantic chignon at the nape of her neck (styled by Amber Rathmell Castle), and wearing a white ballgown from Bow And Arrow Bridal with a full, princess-style skirt and delicate sparkling netting on the bodice and arms. The bridesmaids wore elegant, floor-sweeping gowns in deep forest green and had similar romantic, delicate styling in their hair and makeup looks. In contrast, the men donned classic black suits with crisp white shirts and green silk ties, providing a dramatic backdrop to the lush, luxuriant gowns of the women. Gorgeous photography from Kenzie Galyean Photography (and second shooter Hayden Hatch Photo) captured all the joy (and tears!) of the beautiful ceremony.

The jewel-toned green dresses worn by the three lovely bridesmaids provided a beautiful contrast to the bride’s sparkling princess-style wedding gown.

The local vendors that Brittany and Trevor chose for their ceremony are companies that we adore. Like the team at Sparrow Creek Ranch, these vendors serve couples year-round with that small-business love and attention that makes you feel like family. The floral arrangements from Joy’s Downtown Flowers were striking and perfectly suited to the aesthetic of this Sparrow Creek Ranch fall wedding. Brittany carried a tousled, moodily romantic bouquet that included red lilies, dramatic protea, delicate, red-edged roses, and tumbling eucalyptus leaves—motifs carried through the bridesmaid’s nosegays and the men’s buttonholes. More lush florals softened the industrial edges of the genuine 1930s Magnolia Oil Company barrels. Brittany walked down an aisle strewn with rich oriental rugs and edged with black lanterns—decorative vintage accents from Borrowed Treasures Texas that added bohemian personality.

That moody fall bouquet looked stunning against Brittany’s dress! The bridal aisle was strewn with oriental rugs and lined with greenery and vintage lanterns.

After the ceremony, Brittany and Trevor watered a tree together to symbolize their growth as a married couple before moving to their reception. The Sparks had created a dramatic but still welcoming atmosphere for their guests inside the Barn at Sparrow Creek Ranch. Against the black tablecloths, lush floral centerpieces in jewel tones shone like diamonds in a velvet box. The high, rafted ceilings were strung with glittering string lights and crystal chandeliers of different sizes and designs for an elegant yet eclectic look. Against the rugged wood-paneled walls, an assortment of ornate mirrors in metallic frames reflected all those lights, creating a magical atmosphere of sparkle and glamor that melded the couple’s personality with moody fall opulence. A classic, tiered ‘naked’ cake with the same gorgeous florals from Joy’s Downtown Flowers cascading down the side was simple and striking.

Black tablecloths contrasted with the glittering chandeliers and mirrors for a dramatic, atmospheric effect!

Dramatic blacks and dark greens paired gorgeously with the natural wood. Every detail was perfect.

Outside, the Tipsy Trailer bar added another unique touch, providing delicious beverages and charming service. This is a wonderful, family-run local vendor, and a favorite at Sparrow Creek Ranch weddings! A cute trailer provides full cocktail bar service. The trailer itself was adorable, and it was surrounded by boho rugs and plants on wicker stands, with two green velvet club chairs encouraging lounging and conversation—classic and quirky all at once! Tipsy Trailer dates book up fast, so don't wait if you are thinking of taking advantage of Sparrow Creek Ranch's big front patio area for your own wedding cocktail hour!

Looking like a princess, Brittany twirled under the chandeliers while a cluster of votive candles glowed in the fireplace behind her. Every detail of their moody fall wedding was absolutely perfect, and the team at Sparrow Creek Ranch were so happy to be part of their gorgeous day.

Have you ever seen a happier bride? Brittany looks radiant dancing under the sparkling lights.
