Emily Bejaran Photography captured the heart of SCR, the vintage tones and romantic essence in every little inch of our amazing repurposed venue. It is rare, like incredibly rare, that a photographer surprises me and, more so, takes my breath away with a gallery. Emily did just that and more with this stunning shoot!

Tell us more about your wedding editing style and your color match:

“While I love tailoring a variety of color profiles to match each client's unique vision, this one has really struck a chord with so many couples.

It’s all about those muted rich tones that evoke a nostalgic, almost timeless feel. Imagine deep, velvety hues that draw you in and whisper stories of the past.

Then, I add those delightful pops of color, which provide a stunning contrast and bring a touch of vibrancy without overpowering the image. It's like adding just the right amount of seasoning to a dish – it enhances everything around it.

The creamy whites are another key element; they create this beautiful balance against the vintage backdrops, making the bride’s dress and other white elements glow with a soft, ethereal light.

And let's talk about that rustic overtone! It adds a layer of moodiness and texture that’s both cozy and dramatic. Think of weathered wood, antique lace, and the soft glow of twilight. This overtone really makes the brighter colors pop in a way that's subtle yet striking – they catch your eye but never steal the show.

Every shot is crafted to capture depth, emotion, and the timeless beauty of each moment. Whether it’s a tender glance, a stolen kiss, or a joyous laugh, this style ensures those moments are preserved in a way that feels both cinematic and personal. It’s all about creating a visual symphony that resonates with your heart and soul, transforming each photo into art.”

Emily, you have an amazing knowledge of SCR! It shows in your photography; can you tell us more about gaining that perspective :)

I had the pleasure of being a bride at SCR venue back in November of 2022. Even before the wedding, during our initial walkthrough, the intricate details of the venue and interactions with the owners left an indelible mark on us.

From the moment we set foot on the property during the walkthrough, we were captivated by its charm and character. Personal favorite gems like the enchanting patio staircase, the perfectly decorated “getting ready” locations, and the overhead twinkling lights that cast a magical glow over the entire venue instantly stole our hearts. Not to mention the antique collection of chandeliers and mirrors that add a touch of old-world elegance, and the rich color differentiation in the wood that adds warmth and depth to the surroundings. And let's not forget about the lush trees and endless photography locations that provide a stunning backdrop for capturing those cherished moments.

It's this intimate familiarity with every corner, every hidden gem, and every unique feature that allows me to explore and utilize the venue creatively, infusing each shot with a touch of magic that truly sets it apart.

And then there’s Kalli and her family- THEY ARE AMAZING!  What sets them apart from others is not just their craftsmanship, but their genuine passion and love for what they do. From the moment we first met them, we felt like part of the family. Their warmth, hospitality, and attention to detail have made every interaction a joy. They didn't just build a venue; they created a space filled with love, history, and soul.Kalli and her family went above and beyond during the walkthrough, ensuring we knew the layout of the venue inside and out, taking their time to make sure every detail was covered, so we felt completely prepared for our wedding day. Their commitment to excellence and their genuine care for their clients make them more than just venue owners; they are partners in our journey, and we are forever grateful for their role in making our wedding dreams come true.

Emily is a past SCR bride, so I was a little shy about inviting her to capture SCR, knowing it would be a little awkward if the photos were not up to my high expectations! Thankfully, I am fully and completely in love with everything she captured and her attention to detail. She stands out in the world of airy and light wedding photography and instead creates a look that brings in the bright colors of the florals but also perfectly captures the depth and richness of the structure’s industrial bones.

You captured the most unique angles and interesting shots from this day! Your images stood out against the others for their uniqueness; tell us more!

“Capturing those creative angles and unique shots is one of my favorite parts of photography. It all starts with really engaging with the environment and the couple.

I make it a point to explore the venue thoroughly, looking for interesting perspectives and hidden gems that might not be immediately obvious. I think of each shoot as a storytelling opportunity, where I can showcase the extraordinary in the ordinary. I pay close attention to the light, the architecture, and the natural surroundings, finding ways to use them to frame my subjects in compelling ways. Sometimes, it's about getting down low, climbing up high, or finding reflections and shadows that add depth and intrigue to the photo.

Additionally, I always listen to my clients' ideas and preferences, incorporating their vision into my creativity.

Ultimately, it's all about capturing the essence and unique story of the couple, ensuring their personalities and love shine through in every shot. This collaborative approach helps me identify those cool, unexpected angles that make each photo stand out. It’s all about being present in the moment, experimenting, and seeing the world from different viewpoints in my lens to create something truly special for my couples.”

How do you achieve all these amazing details? SCR hosts at least 50 weddings a year, so I see a lot of photography, and yours no doubt stands out!

“The standout quality of my images comes from the time and care I invest in each photo, both during the shoot and in the editing process.

When I'm shooting , I take my time to ensure every detail is just right, from the lighting to the composition to the angles. I don't rush; I immerse myself in the moment, capturing genuine emotions and the unique atmosphere of the scene.

During editing, my focus is on enhancing the natural beauty of each shot without overdoing it. I meticulously adjust colors, contrasts, and tones to bring out the best in every image. It's not just about adding filters or quick edits; it's about thoughtfully crafting each photo to tell a story and evoke emotion.

Essentially, I pay close attention to detail in every phase of my art process, ensuring that every element in the frame contributes to the overall feel of the image. This dedication and effort make my photos stand out, offering a timeless, evocative quality that resonates deeply with my clients.”

“One of the special aspects of my approach that gives my galleries their unique appeal is my deep commitment to understanding and capturing each couple's individual story.

Before the big day, I spend time getting to know my clients, their personalities, and their vision for their wedding photos. This personal connection allows me to create images that are not only beautiful but also deeply meaningful and reflective of who they are.
