Crisp Winter Wedding at Sparrow Creek Ranch

Jolea and Aubrey said “I do” on one of the few warm days we receive in Texas in January. The day started with clouds in the sky. However, as the day moved into the ceremony, the clouds broke and sunshine warmed the smiling faces of family and friends. The crisp colors of their wedding truly popped against the scenery of Sparrow Creek Ranch.

Jolea dreamed of a boho wedding that allowed her classic side to shine through. Bridesmaids wore black dresses and the groomsmen velvet blazers. Together, the wedding party showed themselves to be the aura of sophistication. Aubrey donned a green velvet suit jacket, which allowed for a wonderfully subtle distinction. More on Jolea’s dress later!

Love Story:

Jolea and Aubrey met while she was living in College Station and he in Nacogdoches. The two were introduced by Jolea’s life-long friend when they attended a country music concert. Aubrey whisked her off her feet as they two-stepped the night away. Soon, Jolea transferred to SFA and they were able to date more seriously in town together. Aubrey proposed a few years later at his father’s lakehouse. Something sweet to note: Aubrey’s first “I love you” to Jolea was down on bended knee when he promised to love her unconditionally forever.

After their engagement, the two rescued a pregnant momma-dog (at the very same lakehouse) and found loving homes for each and every puppy. They currently care for Momma (Mae) and the puppy (Happy) as newlyweds.

“Details, Details, Details!”

Details from the day included boho floral arrangements and elegant decor. Green, white, and hints of black tied the entire look together. Their cake was made from a tower of mini Nothing Bundt Cakes that were quite delicious. The two also remembered lost family members with a memory table with sweet photos of loved ones. Jolea also carried a beautiful family ring attached to an antique Bible throughout the day to remember the love of previous generations.

Party People!

The night had quite a long dance period but that did not stop their guests from having a night to remember. J & A’s energetic spirit and love for a great party allowed for a wonderful time indeed. Friends and family danced the night away with huge smiles on their faces.

At the end of the night two departed in a vintage car — in true Jolea and Aubrey fashion. Both huge fans of classic cars and all things vintage, it was only fitting.
