Bridal Portraits - Why you should!

Bridals, to do or not to do? What are the benefits?!

The wedding day is hectic, that’s just the truth. Taking bridals before the big day gives you more time on the wedding day with your friends and less run around time. Especially if your venue is a Texas Ranch Venue with the rolling hills of the Palo Pinto Mountains waiting to be your outdoor bridal backdrop! Oh, and double that if the inside of your venue is a glamorous-industrial venue made of repurposed material where every wall and backdrop is unique! Ok! You get our point — there are so many gorgeous backdrops at SCR we highly encourage our brides to do bridals here to capture it all!

Bridal Sessions are so helpful!

  1. TRIAL RUN

    • Bridal sessions allow each bride to have a trial run of her wedding day look. You will wear your wedding attire, from shoes, makeup, hair, dress, and jewelry, and see it all come together! Trust us; you likely won’t have this experience without the bridal session. This allows you to test small details you are still deciding on, like lip color, wedding day shoes, or even nail color. I’ve seen dozens of brides change a key aspect of their look after bridals!

2. CHANGE IT UP

It’s common to see two different hairstyles between bridal and wedding day photos. Why?

  • This could be for one of two reasons, 1) bridals give you a chance to sport a hairstyle that isn’t great for your wedding day, or 2) the bride decides she’d love a different style for the wedding day now that she’s seen her whole bridal look.

  • Want an elaborate bridal hairstyle you see on Pinterest, but realize for a busy day, it might not be ideal for dancing and moving around all night? Bridals are a great chance to have those photos with amazing Pinterest-worthy hair and then choose a more durable style for the wedding day.

3. DISPLAYING BRIDAL PORTRAITS AT THE RECEPTION

  • A large Bridal Portrait at the reception is a Southern Tradition.

  • At Sparrow Creek Ranch, our brides often choose to display several bridal photos at the reception. These portraits are then ready to be hung up in your new house as Mr & Mrs! Or make great gifts for MOB, MOL, and grandmas.

4. BRIDAL BOUQUET AT BRIDAL SESSIONS

  • Having a test run on your bridal bouquet is also a great perk to a Bridal Session. One of the best tips I received when choosing my bouquet was, “Don’t lose your waist to flowers!”

  • This tip from a wedding pro is out of fashion now with oversized bouquets (which we love); but her advice rings true. A large bouquet often means the bride’s waist is missing from her photos. I opted for a more petite bouquet not to overwhelm my dress and to ensure the waist I worked so hard for was visible! A bridal session allows you to test the colors and size of your wedding flowers.

5. BRIDES BUILDING CONFIDENCE OFR WEDDING DAY

  • Feeling comfortable on Wedding Day!

  • With a bridal session under your belt, you will feel more at ease knowing what your entire wedding day ensemble will look like and how you will feel.

  • No doubt loving your look and having confidence in your bridal hair, makeup, and details will make getting ready so much more fun!

All SCR Brides have complimentary access to our 10o+ acres and industrial barn for their bridals.
